If you have a Flexible Savings account (FSA) or Health Savings account (HSA), you can use it to pay for some services at the Healthcare Gallery & Wellness Spa.
The IRS ruling states that medical care expenses must be primarily to alleviate or prevent a physical or mental ailment. Examples of illnesses that qualify include carpal tunnel syndrome, stress, back pain, arthritis, diabetes, hypertension, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression and pain management.
If you suffer from one of the above conditions, you will need to visit your Primary Care Physician (PCP) and let them know that you are wanting to use your FSA or HSA for services as a treatment for your condition. They will provide you a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) for you to bring to us.
For example, Massage Therapy can be a qualified medical expense just as is Physical Therapy and Weight Loss Management if there is a diagnosed medical condition.
Personal Training (as treatment for a medical condition diagnosed by a licensed healthcare professional such as back pain or obesity) is also covered.
There are 3 things the prescription or LMN must have for you and us to be in compliance.
1) Medical necessity: why you need massage therapy (example: to relieve back pain)
2) Frequency: number of sessions per month (example: minimum of two sessions per month)
3) Duration: length of treatment (example: 6 or 12 months)
Bring in that prescription so we can scan it into your records. You will need to keep the original just in case you are asked by the IRS to provide proof of the expense.  The LMN will be reviewed by our Chief Medical Officer Dr Elliott to make sure it is in compliance and meets these requirements before services will be rendered.
**General health and wellness treatments along with cosmetic treatments are not covered by HSA/FSA.**
