Pixel Skin Resurfacing

Pixel is an effective FDA-approved skin procedure that utilizes a fractional laser to clear years of sun damage, enlarged pores, melasma, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, rough skin texture, and acne scarring. The Pixel fractional laser creates thousands of microscopic perforations to promote rapid healing through the stimulation of collagen synthesis. Pixel can be performed on the face, neck, and larger areas of the body, including the chest. By promoting collagen growth, Pixel skin resurfacing improves skin texture, reduces hyperpigmentation and scarring while creating a radiant glow to the face.

Ideal Candidate

This is suitable for all ages and skin types because Pixel treatments create shallow, microscopic perforations that lead to a quicker recovery time. Pixel skin resurfacing would work best for patients with:

  • rough, dull skin

  • enlarged pores

  • melasma

  • hyperpigmentation

  • acne scarring

  • signs of aging, including wrinkles and age spots

  • sun damage

Procedure Technique

During the procedure, we will properly cleanse and prepare your skin before using the Pixel laser. We use a Zimmer, which blows cool air over the skin and helps act as a numbing agent during the treatment. After the Pixel treatment is performed, you will feel a mild, sunburn-type sensation, which resolves within the subsequent 1-2 hours.

What to Expect

The redness of the skin may persist for the first 24-48 hours, after which the skin will start to peel on days 3-4. Flaking of the skin is normal over the next few days, revealing healthy, youthful skin below. Most everyone completely recovers between 3-5 days. Because these microscopic perforations are very shallow, Pixel treatments come with a lower risk of complications and much shorter healing time.
